The foundry process is essential for Cercena’s day-to-day activities, from the preparation of projects, through the choice of the best raw materials, to the delivery of the final product.
The company works with gray cast iron and nodular cast iron foundry, green sand molding process with 2 automatic horizontal molding machines and electric induction furnaces.

Machining
It is the process of obtaining agglomerated pieces of sand and resin (called cores), which will create cavities and recesses in the pieces. Cercena uses blow molding machines (Gevitec and Vick) in the Coldbox process.
Molding
It is the process of obtaining the mold in green sand (silica sand, bentonite, coal powder, water) through compression on a tool, generating a negative of the external parts of the part.

Fusion
It is the process of transforming raw materials (scrap, pig iron, alloy iron) into cast iron alloys. These raw materials are inserted into induction furnaces, transforming into liquid metal at temperatures above 1500°C.
· 1 set of Servtherm induction furnaces – 2 crucibles of 3000 Kg;
· 1 set of Servtherm induction furnaces – 2 crucibles of 4000 Kg;
Finishing
In the finishing process, the cast part undergoes a cleaning process in steel shot blasts to remove sand and small metallic burrs. Then the deburring process is carried out with a grinding wheel, electric sander, mounted points.

Durability, resistance to corrosive elements and aesthetic finish are extremely important factors for our customers. To guarantee your needs, Cercena has two painting lines and a surface protection cell based on protective oil.
– Powder coating: Electrostatic painting line with four application cabins, five pre-treatment baths, two of which are degreasing, two rinsing and one ionized bath, application of a thin layer of paint with a nanoceramic process, reducing environmental impact and generation of residues, guaranteeing chemical and UV protection against the weather, with 96% of the ink being used. Approved inks with heavy metal control, focusing on the safety of employees and with internal effluent treatment.
– Immersion painting: Painting process that ensures intermediate finish and protection
With a view to a market differential, Cercena offers its customers the delivery of assembled sets.
The main purpose of assembly is a product consisting of a series of elements that are manufactured separately, such as screws, retainers, bushings, seals, pins, among others. These components add value to the product, in addition to meeting customer needs.
