Cercena's history begins long before 1965...still in Italy, in Forno di Zoldo, where ancestors of the Cercena family already worked with foundry and nail manufacturing, including where Luigi Cercena was President of the Industrial Society of Zoldo.
Mr. Ele Cercena from a very young age dreamed of having his own company. To achieve this goal, he began his professional life at a very young age as a lathe operator, at the company Irmãos Valentini in Erechim.
In May 1965, after years of work and savings, Mr. He, with a lathe, a toolbox and a lot of desire to work, inaugurated his Motor Retifica, always supported by his wife and children.
In the year 1972 Mr. Ele and his sons expand their business to a new address and their own headquarters. Thus starting the iron foundry with parts of agricultural implements.
Ele Cercena always had an entrepreneurial and creative spirit, he developed and manufactured the machines he used in his business. It was he who idealized and manufactured the first oil furnace for the foundry. Some of his machines were exhibited at regional fairs.
In 1974 the company expanded its market, starting the production of Brake Drums, for the highway market.
In 1987, with inherited entrepreneurship, the children Margarete, Juarez and Angélica, transferred Cercena to the Industrial District of Erechim, investing in production capacity and technology.
In 1999, with the aim of qualifying its processes, providing its customers with a guarantee of the quality of its products, Cercena was certified ISO 9001.
In early 2000, the company Pontual Tecnologia em Manufatura LTDA was inaugurated, with the aim of improving and expanding Foundry services, offering machining services and delivering the complete product to the market.
Cercena acquires a new Vick molding line, with a compression system with a multiple head, thus promoting a qualitative leap in its production processes.
The second hydraulic automatic molding line of the Cruvie brand is acquired, always focused on improving its production processes and technology.
Seeking even more technology and productivity, Cercena invests in Moldadora FBO II, a molding machine with superior blow molding, without box, horizontal partition, producing molds with high precision and efficiency. Expanding its production capacity to 1000 tons/month.
In 2019, Cercena invests entrepreneurially in a new and modern Powder Painting process, in a new 1,200 m² facility.
Looking to the future, Cercena unifies the casting and machining processes, merging with the company Pontual, thus making its processes even more robust and the company increasingly competitive. With this unification, the company's Board of Directors was created, based on its commitment to the perpetuation of its management.
Still in 2021, seeking an improvement in Machining technology, Cercena invests in the modernization of the industrial park and also in the control processes.
Cercena invests in a Euromac molding machine with Italian technology and a capacity of 80 molds/hour, increasing its production capacity to 1,400 tons/month.
